About Us

God’s blessings on you. My name is Edward M. Williams (you can call me Ed) and I am the Lay Pastor here at First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls. 

I came to this calling by way of 20 years in the Navy and 14 years in the public education system in the Special Education Field.

Why did I leave the education field? I felt God was calling me for something bigger and reached out to a pastor for advice. With his guidance, and the guidance of other clergy, I decided to start taking classes to be a Commissioned Ruling Elder with the Presbyterian Church. After having a few classes under my belt, I was invited as a guest pastor to the church in Chippewa Falls. I was struck immediately by how warm and genuine everyone was. Learning of the great mission work done in this small but mighty church was right up my alley and I felt very at home. I was offered a position as Lay Pastor beginning on January 1st, 2023 and here we are! My wife Barbara (Rhamey) Williams has been very supportive, even though we live all the way in Gilman!

I moved around quite a bit in my Navy career and Chippewa Falls is not my hometown. I’m truly impressed by all this city has to offer in the way of support and resources for our community members in need. First Presbyterian Church and I are always looking for ways to help and be involved. Working together will keep Chippewa Falls the strong community that it is now. I’m so excited to be part of this church and community. I’m eager to meet more of our community members. Feel free to stop by Sunday mornings or during office hours and introduce yourself!
